The Mess We Left Behind

An environmental illustration created for Ajudaris. What happens when humans leave their mess behind and the animals are the ones who have to clean it up? In this illustration, I imagined a little forest where the animals have taken matters into their own paws. Two bears are fishing rubbish out of the river, a rabbit is sweeping the ground, and a fox is collecting the litter scattered around their home. At first glance, it looks like a cheerful, busy day in the forest. But behind the playful characters and bright colors lies a more serious question: Why should animals have to clean up a mess they didn’t make? I wanted to approach environmental awareness through a gentle, slightly humorous story rather than a sad or frightening image. After all, nature is their home too. And keeping it clean should never be their responsibility alone.
